The Cycle Effect and the Rosenbach’s Team Up to Build a Stronger Community Photo 1Vail, CO: There’s a direct correlation between sports andwomen’s leadership that rings especially true for young female athletes. The connection between sports and education is reinforced through the mission of The Cycle Effect, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering female athletes through mountain biking. On Tuesday, June 28, 2016, Gary and Susan Rosenbach hosted a remarkable event that raised $120,000 for an organization that’s influenced the lives of hundreds of young women, many of whom have never had the privilege of owning their own bicycle. The Cycle Effect will work with close to 75 athletes this year and provide a MTB program valued at $5000+ to its participants for $140 each. Of the young women that have been involved in the program for 3 years or more, 100% of the participants have gone to college. Many are the first in their families to attend.Intrigued by the mission and success of the organization, The Rosenbach’s offered to host an event in their home, matching up to $50,000 of funds raised. Susan Rosenbach, member of the Cycle Effect’s board, shared, “We have been profoundly impressed by the program and its' ability to transform young women's lives. The mission for every young woman to have the ability to experience being empowered through an athletic pursuit, to build a brighter future and to have the chance to be part of a supportive community is what drew the couple to this foundation. We were especially impressed by the fact that each and every girl that has spent at least three years in the program has gone on to college.”Photo 2"This event was transformational for our organization,” stated Vicki Flynn,Development Director of the Cycle Effect. “We are grateful for the Rosenbach's support and for the community of new donors.  I am so proud to work for an organization that has such an impact on our local young women and our impact will only grow."Coco Andrade, a Cycle Effect Alum and a junior at Colorado Mesa University joined the Cycle Effect from in 8th grade , sharing “I will forever be grateful for The Cycle Effect. I am so thankful to everyone who supported this program tonight. Now my little sister has the same opportunities that I had when I was an athlete in the program.”
