The Cycle Effect Announces Vicki Flynn’s Promotion to COO and Search for Director of Development

Vicki Flynn, former Sr. Director of Development and Operations has been promoted to COO & the organization is currently searching for a Director of Development.

Eagle County, CO — November 18, 2022 — The Cycle Effect, a Colorado-based nonprofit with a mission to empower young women through mountain biking, announced that Vicki Flynn has been promoted from Sr. Director of Development and Operations to Chief Operating Officer. The new COO role is a result of the continued growth of The Cycle Effect programs, which is now based in four counties across Colorado.

Vicki Flynn has been with the organization since 2015. Flynn has been a fundraiser for nearly two decades and has worked in various leadership positions throughout her career. Her passion to make a difference and impact the lives of others is what has driven her to this work.

“I am thrilled to step into this new role to better accommodate our growing organizational needs and to better serve our communities. We are at a pivotal point with a lot of opportunities and I look forward to leading our team during this exciting time,” said Vicki Flynn.

Founder and CEO Brett Donelson has seen the impact Flynn creates, "The Cycle Effect will celebrate its 10 year anniversary in 2023. Vicki has been here for seven of those years and has helped shape every aspect of the organization. Almost every part of The Cycle Effect has grown exponentially since she started. We are excited to have Vicki's leadership and skillset overseeing the whole organization,” said Donelson.

Donelson recognized the need to create the COO role amidst the recent growth of the organization, “We have worked hard to sustainably grow our organization and we believe this new role will help us continue to thrive.”

Founded as a nonprofit in 2013, The Cycle Effect started with one team in Eagle County that served 10 athletes. In less than 10 years, the organization has expanded into four counties and serves nearly 300 athletes plus an additional 800 participants through outreach programs. Programming has grown to include Latina Bike Teams for women and a Bike Match Program. The Bike Match Program collects donated bikes, tunes them up, and matches them with a member of the community. Programming expansions are all in an effort to get more people on bikes who otherwise wouldn’t have the opportunity.

The Cycle Effect is actively searching for a new Director of Development to fill Flynn’s previous role. The position will be critically important to moving the organization's fundraising efforts forward and will help shape the next chapter for the organization. Please visit TheCycleEffect.org for more information about the role.
