about

Since 2013, our Girls Mountain Bike Program has focused on empowering young women ages 10 to 18. This low-cost after-school program pairs mentorship with mountain biking, using the bicycle as a tool to teach transferable life skills. The Cycle Effect provides all bikes and gear needed to participate! We’ve seen riders in our Girls Mountain Bike Program improve their mental and physical health, grow their confidence, find belonging and gain access to truly transformative experiences that help them thrive, on and off the trail.

In 2024, this program will revolve around sessions. This new model builds upon our current program to boost athlete participation, create stronger team bonds, emphasize skills progression and encourage more FUN. Through these changes, The Cycle Effect’s mission to empower our athletes through mentorship and mountain biking remains the same. Our supportive coaches, core curriculum, low program fee, access to scholarships, and dedication to breaking down barriers are not going anywhere!
