We believe in the transformational powers of belonging and self-fulfillment. The Cycle Effect is a Colorado-based nonprofit that mentors through mountain biking. We serve adventurous 10-18 year old girls who may not have the opportunity to participate in the sport. Our flexible curriculum provides participants with bikes, equipment, and a diverse coaching staff for little cost.

We live in the heart of nature’s playground, yet many kids do not have the means to explore the great outdoors on a bike. The Cycle Effect provides hundreds of local girls with everything they need to climb up and charge down the trail called life, confidently riding alongside other courageous young ladies. The benefits of biking are many, including everything from overcoming challenges to forming healthy habits. As a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization, we rely entirely on the contributions of generous people like you to outfit our tenacious athletes and further their passion for mountain biking. Through cycling, we’ve changed thousands of lives and helped young women realize countless dreams.

Sponsor a Rider
every day on a bike is a gift
In 2023, The Cycle Effect will mentor and coach more than 300 young ladies across the Western Slope, and we need your help to do it! It costs us $2,400 per rider each year to outfit thfem with bikes, gear, race entry fees, training, food, and fitness equipment.
sponsor a rider giving options $2,400/year or $200/month covers the cost of a rider for one year
$1,200/year or $100/month covers half of the cost of a rider for one year
$600/year or $50/month covers offseason training and mentorship for one rider
$300/year or $25/month covers the cost of shoes and a helmet for one rider
With our Sponsor a Rider program, you're not supporting a specific athlete. Instead, you’re helping to keep annual enrollment costs low and providing life changing experiences for our deserving athletes.

Stock Donations
go long on young futures
Gifts of stock are a fiscally sound way to support The Cycle Effect and may provide you with rewarding tax advantages. The fair market value of your stock donation is tax-deductible to you in the year it’s donated, plus we will be able to capitalize on the full amount of your generous contribution. If you’re looking to donate quality new/like new gear including cycling apparel, glasses, gloves, shoes, and helmets, we’d love to see it and will do our best to pair it with one of our riders. And please, leave your used undies and socks at home. Eww!
the (re)cycle program
Sometimes finding room to store extra bikes is a challenge. For many others, affording one bike is impossible. We began the (Re)Cycle Program in 2022 to give everyone in our community the chance to ride. From BMX to road bikes, and everything in between, as long as your bike is in great shape, we’ll take it, tune it, then match it with a new owner for free! If you have new or decent used bikes cluttering up your valuable storage space, fill out this form and we’ll come get them out of your way.
